The North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon, established on 15th August, 1990 under the Maharashtra Universities Act, XXIX of 1989, started its academic and administrative functioning from the academic year 1991-92. Within the span of 3 years, the University is recognized under section 2 (f) in 1991 and 12 (B) in 1994 under the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. The jurisdiction of the University is extended over three districts i.e. Jalgaon, Dhule and Nandurbar, a pre-dominantly tribal and rural area of Khandesh region. The University has opened it’s doors of higher education to mostly “first generation learners” of this area. Access, equity and academic excellence are the thrust areas of the University’s educational endeavor. Presently, Prof. S. U. Meshram is the Vice-Chancellor holding the position since September 08, 2011.The University was awarded with FOUR STAR grade in the year 2001 and B grade with 2.88 CGPA in the year 2009 by National Assessement and Accreditation Council (NAAC), Bangalore. Qualification & Experience for the Post of Professor. Engineering /Technology Qualification (1) B.E. / B.Tech. and M.E. / M.Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in B.E. /B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech. (2) Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline. (3) Post Ph.D. publications & guiding Ph.D. students is highly desirable. Experience Minimum of 10 years Teaching/ Research/Industriae experience of which at least 5 years should be at the level of Associate Professor. OR Minimum of 13 years experience in Teaching and/or Research and/or Industry. In case of Research experience good academic record and Books/Research Papers Publications/IPR/Patent record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of Selection Committee. If the experience in Industry is considered, the same shall be at Managerial Level equivalent to Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/designing, planning, executing, analyzing, quality control, innovating, training, technical books / research paper publication/ IPR/ patent etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection Committee. Qualification & Experience for the Post of Associate Professor .Engineering / Technology. Qualification (1) B.E. / B.Tech. and M.E. / M.Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in B.E. /B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech. (2) Ph.D. or equivalent in appropriate discipline. Qualification for the Post of Assistant Professor – Arts / Humanities / Science (1) Good academic record as defined by the concerned university with at least 5 % of the marks or equivalent grade where grading system is practiced at the Master’s degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university. (2) Beside fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET / SET. (3) Holders of Ph.D. degree as on the date of Notification of these Regulations, along with those candidates who are awarded a Ph.D. degree through a process of admission, registration, course work and external evaluation as laid down in the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of M. Phil / Ph.D. Degree ), Regulations, 2009 and so adopted by the university shall be exempted from NET/ SLET / SET.
