He is assisted by several other senior officers in the rank of ADGPs, IGPs, DIGs, AIGs and SPs.Police Headquarters has different branches with uniform and civil staff catering to their respective subject matters. There are Esstt-I, Esstt-II, Esstt-III, M.T. branch, Accounts branch, Supply branch, Legal Cell, Crime branch, Pension branch, Modernization branch etc with staffs headed by Office Superintendents. Senior Accounts Officer and Junior Accounts Officer are posted by the State Govt. on deputation from Accounts Services to act as advisors on financial and accounts matters to the department.The Police Engineering wing is called Police Engineering Project (PEP) headed by a Chief Engineer at Police Headquarters and assisted by two Executive Engineers at Chumukedima and Alichen respectively along with a host of other functionaries.
