Kolkata Metro is the first underground Metro railway in India. It extends from DumDum near Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Air Port, Kolkata to Kavi Subhash station near Patuli, the busy North-South axis of Kolkata over a length of 25.135 kms. The Metro railway, Kolkata was constructed progressively from 1972 to 2010. Phase-I a length of 16.450 kms from DumDum to Tollygunge (Mahanayak Uttam Kumar) having been completed in 1995 and in Phase-II a length of 5.834 kms from Mahanayak Uttam Kumar to Kavi Nazrul station is completed in August-2009. The last leg upto Kavi Subhash a length of 2.851 kms has been opened in October8,2010 for commercial operation.A dream thus came true. PhaseII a length of 5.834Kms from Maha Nayak Uttam Kumar to Kavi Nazrul station is completed in Aug’ 2009.The last leg upto Kavi Subhash a length of 2.851 kms has been opened in October 8, 2010 for commercial operation. Presently, 270 services are being run on normal weekdays to carry about 5.43 lakhs of passengers on an average per day with peak volume touching 6.90 lakhs on certain days.Metro Railway, Kolkata invited application for recruitment to 16 posts of Fitter, Electrician, Welder, Machinist & Plumber. Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification: Should have passed from any of the above designated trades from ITI (NCVT) and should have passed Matriculation/Madhyamik or its equivalent examination from any recognized Board with minimum marks obtained 50% of the aggregate.
Age limit: Between 15 to 22 years
Pay Scale
Candidates will be paid stipend as per extant rules.
